Ulrike Heider, born in Erlangen, Germany, studied at music conservatories in the Netherlands: church music and organ with Bert Matter and Hans van Nieuwkoop in Arnhem, choral and orchestral conducting with Jos Leussink and Tilo Lehmann in Zwolle and singing with Rebecca Stewart in Tilburg. At present, she is organist of the Haga Church, Göteborg, and teaches liturgical singing at the School of Music, Göteborg University. She is the founder and artistic leader of a female vocal quartet, Schola Gothia, which performs Gregorian Chant and early polyfony. She has taught and performed at different festivals and academies, and recorded on the Proprius, Loft and Intim labels. For her work as a choir conductor she has received several awards. |
